Sweet Water Creek, Douglasville Georgia.
On today, August twentieth two thousand and eleven, I walked the red trail of Sweet Water Creek. Located in Douglasville Georgia. Myself and Brice walked the path to the old mill which was built in 1846 bought by a man named Charles J. MacDonald and James Rogers. The mill was powered by water manufacturing cotton and fabric. Viewing an old landmark like this just makes me want to be able to view more. Wondering what it was like back than, because looking at it now it is just an run down place that doesn't even have rooms or an inside. It is pure grass and dirt and walls. It was blocked off but I would have loved to take a tour of some sort to learn more history of it. All the history I have of it is what I read off of the sign and on wikipedia. Which is barely anything. Being able to walk the rocks of the creek and have my feet sway in the water was just the most purest of pure feelings your heart can feel. Other than being there with someone you love. Today just began the first day of my hiking journeys. If you love hiking like this and share your hiking stories with me. We can be the start of a beautiful adventure.
